Top Beginner Piano Songs

Learning to play the piano can be a difficult task. If you are learning from a piano teacher then it is most likely that they will choose the music that you play. If you are learning to play on your own then the job of finding beginner piano music to play is all your. Trying to play music that is too hard for you will only result in frustration. The following is a list of songs that are a great for a beginner:

1) Hot Cross Buns – This is one of the very first songs you should attempt to play. Very easy skill level.

2) Mary Had a Little Lamb – Great children’s song that is easy to learn.

7) For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow

8) Happy Birthday – An easy song to play and one that can come in handy at birthday parties.

9) Row, Row, Row Your Boat

10) Ode to Joy – Great classical piece that is actually very easy to play.

These songs are all great for the absolute beginner. They are all either Children’s Songs or Traditional Songs so many of them should be familiar to you. You will find that many of them either use very few different keys or have repetitive fingering. Use these songs as a starting point for your quest to learn the piano. There are many other songs that are great for beginners. These are some of the pieces that could be considered the staples when learning the piano.
